NETWORKING

Tailored for Your Organization

What is CORE Networking?

Core Networking is the beating heart of every professional IT infrastructure. It is the central layer where all data traffic converges and determines how quickly, securely, and reliably your organization can operate. At The Networkers, core networking represents a powerful, future-proof network foundation that supports your business processes and guarantees continuity.

Core networking includes routing, switching, network segmentation, redundancy, security, and performance optimization. A well-configured core network prevents delays, minimizes disruptions, and ensures a stable connection between locations, applications, and users — whether on-premise, in the cloud, or hybrid.

As specialists in LAN, WAN, and WLAN, we design and manage networks that are not only fast and secure but also perfectly scalable for future growth. Our engineers combine in-depth technical knowledge with a pragmatic, transparent approach. No unnecessary complexity — just smart, reliable solutions that demonstrably work.

With The Networkers, you choose expertise, stability, and performance. A core network you can rely on, so your organization can continue to innovate without interruptions.

What is Access Networking?

Access Networking is the layer in your IT infrastructure where users, devices, and applications actually gain access to the network. It forms the link between your core network and everything connected to it: from laptops and printers to IoT solutions, smartphones, and business applications. At The Networkers, we view Access Networking as the foundation for a smooth, secure, and reliable user experience.

Access Networking includes LAN switching, WiFi (WLAN), PoE solutions, NAC (Network Access Control), VLAN segmentation, and device authentication. A well-configured access network ensures that every user — internal, external, or guest — receives exactly the right access, with optimal performance and maximum security.

Our specialists design and manage future-proof access networks that fully align with your organizational needs. Whether it concerns powerful workstation connections, professional WiFi coverage for office and logistics, or strictly secured access for sensitive environments: we ensure stability, security, and scalability without complex detours.

With The Networkers, you choose reliable access, perfect performance, and controlled security. This allows your employees and systems to always connect effortlessly and securely — wherever they work.

Benefits of a modern and software-defined network

A modern corporate network offers:

High availability and minimal downtime

Fast access to files and systems, internally and externally

Full control over network segmentation and security

Lower operational costs through scalability

AI-supported monitoring with automatic recommendations

Better performance for applications and cloud integration

When to choose LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, or FIREWALL?

LAN

LAN: A local network that connects devices within a single building or defined site. The foundation of every reliable IT environment.

WAN

Connects multiple locations via a single secure network structure. Essential for organizations with branches in different places.

WLAN

Wireless networks for flexible and mobile work environments. Ideal for schools, offices, and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) environments.

SD-WAN

Smart, cloud-oriented network solution that optimizes bandwidth and reduces costs. Perfect for modern hybrid IT environments.

FIREWALL

A firewall acts as a smart gatekeeper for your network. Based on preset rules, it determines which traffic is allowed through and which traffic is blocked.

Risks of an outdated network

A poorly maintained network often only gets noticed when things go wrong: slow connections, outages, data leaks, or insecure access. At The Networkers, we therefore always start with a thorough baseline assessment to identify risks and areas for improvement.

Our methodology: step by step to a strong LAN

A well-functioning network starts with a well-thought-out plan and ends with continuous management. We guide you through every phase – from initial analysis to daily support. We are consciously engaged with networks and with you. Whether you need a redesign, monitoring, or a fully managed LAN network: we are happy to contribute our expertise.

Baseline assessment & intake

We start with a thorough baseline assessment. During the intake, we map out your current network performance, identify any bottlenecks, and discuss your objectives. This allows us to lay the foundation for a solution that aligns with your organizational needs.

Custom design

Based on our findings and the applicable requirements and certifications within your sector – such as NEN 7510, ISO 27001, or the BIO framework – we design a future-proof LAN network. In doing so, we take security, scalability, and your business processes into account.

LAN installation

We realize the design from A to Z. This means: laying the cabling, installing network hardware, and carefully configuring switches, routers, and access points. Everything is delivered neatly and professionally.

Test & optimization

After installation, we test the entire infrastructure for functionality. We analyze performance, segmentation, and security, and optimize where necessary. This ensures you are guaranteed maximum speed, reliability, and security.

LAN management via our NOC

Your network is continuously (24/7) monitored from our Network Operations Center (NOC) and Security Operations Center (SOC). We provide real-time monitoring, updates, proactive support, and immediate intervention in case of incidents. This keeps your network in top condition at all times.

Evaluation & advice

Every month, you receive a clear report on network traffic, performance, and incidents. In periodic strategy meetings, we advise you on improvements, growth, and technological developments relevant to your organization.

Frequently asked questions about LAN networks

Are modern networks truly self-learning?

Yes, with AI functionalities, networks can recognize anomalies and optimize themselves.

What is the advantage of software-defined networks?

Flexibility, scalability, and simpler management. Adjustments can be implemented faster and more securely.

Can AI help with security?

Certainly. AI detects anomalies that indicate potential attacks or vulnerabilities, often before users notice anything.

How do I measure the quality of my current network?

We perform network measurements using tools such as Wireshark and NetFlow analysis. This provides insight into bottlenecks, peak loads, and security vulnerabilities.

Can The Networkers manage my network?

That depends on the complexity. We always provide a non-binding estimate.

Does everything need to be reinstalled?

Not always. We often modernize existing infrastructures.

Can I switch from my current supplier?

Yes, we guide the entire transition process without downtime.

Which Ethernet cable should I use for my LAN?

The choice depends on your speed and distance requirements and what you intend to connect, such as wireless equipment and, for example, IoT (LED lamps).

  • Cat5e: Suitable for up to 1 Gbps (Gigabit Ethernet) over max. 100 meters.
  • Cat6: Supports 1 Gbps and can handle 10 Gbps up to 55 meters — better crosstalk shielding.
  • Cat6a: Supports 10 Gbps over the full 100 meters — ideal for future-proof networks.
For most offices, Cat6 is sufficient. Always choose cables with a solid core for fixed cabling and stranded for flexible patch cables.
What is Multi-Gig Ethernet and why is it important for LANs in 2025?

Multi-Gig Ethernet (also known as NBASE-T) is a standard that supports speeds of 2.5 Gbps, 5 Gbps, or even 10 Gbps over existing Cat5e or Cat6 cables — without immediately switching to expensive Cat6a or fiber infrastructure.

  • Bandwidth demand is rising: Due to 8K streaming, AR/VR applications, on-site AI devices, and fast NAS systems (such as home media or backup servers), Gigabit (1 Gbps) is often too slow.
  • Cost-efficient upgrading: You don’t have to replace all your cabling immediately — Multi-Gig often works on your current cables.
  • Hybrid workplaces & smart buildings: Offices and smart homes require reliable, high speeds for IoT, security cameras, and real-time data.
  • PoE++ applications: Multi-Gig ports often also deliver more power (up to 90W via PoE++), ideal for advanced access points, displays, or even small workstations.
